Case: Felony Assault - Shooting
| On Friday August 29, 2008 at 11:40 p.m. officers responded to a shooting in the area of 36th Avenue and Ames Avenue to investigate a shooting. The victim (1) told officers that he and victim (2) were standing along the roadway in front of 4529 North 36th Street when a silver PT cruiser drove by. As the PT cruiser drove past, occupants of the vehicle discharged a firearm in the direction of the victims. The victim suffered from multiple gunshot wounds and was transported by private vehicle to Creighton University Medical Center.
At 11:59 p.m. patrol officers observed a silver PT cruiser, which matched the suspect vehicle in the shooting at 36th Avenue and Ames Avenue, in the area of 24th Street. Those officers called for additional cruisers to assist in making a traffic stop. A traffic stop was conducted at 24th and Taylor Street and located a 17 year old juvenile, Michael Nauden and Randell Busch inside the PT Cruiser.
During a search of the PT Cruiser Randell Busch took off running from officers and escaped.
Officers recovered a stolen handgun from the PT Cruiser. The investigation has resulted in felony warrants being issued for Randell Busch.

Warrant: a felony warrant issued for the arrest of Darrin Waldon for Violation Protection Order – Same Order | On Saturday, June 14, 2008 at 3:10 a.m., officers responded to a radio call to investigate a suspicious person on the balcony of the victim’s apartment. When the officers arrived the suspect had already fled from the area. The victim identified the suspect as her ex-boyfriend Darrin Waldon. The victim has a valid protection order against the suspect which was served to Waldon on July 17, 2007.
The suspect tends to escalate his actions the more he gets away with. The victim reported two more occasions where Waldon was near her apartment complex. Officers observed Waldon on July 23 and attempted to apprehend him but he ran into a wooded area and was not located. He was then spotted crossing I-680 near Fort Street but again was able to elude the officers. Waldon is considered a Habitual Stalker and has been arrested numerous times for Domestic Violence and Protection Order Violations.

She is described as a black female, standing 5’0” tall, weighing approximately 115 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He is described as a black male, standing 5’10” tall, weighing approximately 175 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
On Monday, June 23, 2008 at 9:08 p.m., officers responded to a radio call to 5307 Bauman Avenue regarding a shooting. When the officers arrived they located the victim who was suffering from multiple gun shot wounds. The victim was transported by a rescue squad to the Creighton University Medical Center for treatment of her injuries that were considered to be life threatening at the time. The victim was taken to emergency surgery and did survive.
The investigation determined that the victim was visiting the grave site of her former boyfriend. While at the grave site she was confronted by members of her boyfriend’s family. They forcibly abducted her, stole her car and transported her to the area of 54th and Bauman Avenue. While at that location she was shot multiple times in the back allegedly by Jamaal Abram. He has already been arrested for this Attempted Murder. The other people that assisted him with this crime have been identified as Sharie Colbert and Jerrell Abram.
There has been felony warrants issued for the arrest of Colbert and Abram. Colbert has warrants for Kidnapping and Theft (The victim’s car). While Abram has warrants for Kidnapping and Aiding and Abetting in Attempted Murder.

| The fugitive that will be featured on WOWT’s Heartland’s Most Wanted is Niki Howell. Howell is described as a black female standing 5’4’’ tall and weighing approximately 185 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.
On Tuesday, March 25th, 2008 at 9:24 a.m., officers responded to a radio call to First National Bank, 48th and Ames Avenue, regarding a fraud in progress. When officers arrived they located the suspect who was attempting to get $1,600 from an account belonging to another person. The suspect had stolen a check from the victim and was trying to cash the check.
The suspect, Niki Howell, was transported to Central Police Headquarters where she was interviewed. Upon completion of the investigation, Howell was booked for Forgery.
Howell posted bond but did not show up for her July 2, 2008 court hearing.
Her criminal history includes Disorderedly Conduct, Marijuana Possession and Theft.

On Friday, May 19, 2008 the Omaha Police Department was contacted by a fraud investigator for First National Bank of Omaha. The investigator filed an incident report for forgery. The suspect negotiated a $1,688.27 check drawn on the First National Bank account of the victims.
The check was presented at the HyVee at 51st and Center Streets, and the name Stephanie L. Espinoza-Gonzalez had been added to the ‘pay to the order’ portion of the check along with the original name of another victim. The victim had reported his mail stolen and that he was expecting a check from the First National Bank account holders.
On Friday, June 13, 2008 Espinoza-Gonzalez entered the HyVee at 51st and Center Streets to cash a payroll check from Exterior Solutions. At the time she was required to submit data information including a fingerprint to facilitate further check cashing. Beginning on Friday, June 13, 2008 Espinoza-Gonzalez cashed or attempted to cash checks at multiple HyVee locations in the Omaha area.
Stephanie L. Espinoza-Gonzalez has multiple arrests and convictions for forgery, methamphetamine possession, and receiving stolen goods.

The victim stated that her ex- boyfriend, Antione MITCHELL, punched her in the face with a closed fist and bit her on the nose during an argument at her residence. MITCHELL entered the victim’s residence without her permission at approximately 5:00 a.m.
There has been a felony warrant issued for the arrest of ANTIONE D. MITCHELL for 3rd Degree Domestic Assault.

On Sunday, June 29, 2008, at approximately 10:41 a.m., officers were dispatched to the Pizza Hut located at 4925 L Street in regards to a robbery that just occurred. The Pizza Hut manager advised that as he was leaving the rear business door and walking to his vehicle in order to take the previous day’s deposits to the bank. He was approached by the suspect who displayed a handgun and demanded the money. The suspect then ran from the business and got into a waiting vehicle.
As officers were responding to the scene, an officer observed a black male matching the suspect description getting into a white Pontiac Grand Am which had numerous occupants inside. The suspect ran from the car and the officer chased him but lost him between houses in the neighborhood. When the officer returned to where the vehicle previously was, it was gone.
The investigation has determined that Marcus Morrow and Patrick Wright were the two suspects who committed this robbery.
There has been a felony warrant issued for the arrest of Marcus Morrow for Robbery and Use of a Weapon to Commit a Felony, he also has 2 Misdemeanor warrants of file for Assault and Narcotics. A felony warrant for the arrest of Patrick Wright for Robbery and he currently has 5 misdemeanor warrants on file.

On Friday, May 9, 2008 at 2:07 a.m., officers responded to a radio call 12806 Burt Street regarding a disturbance. The officers located the victim who was suffering from stab and cut wounds to his chest, stomach, face and neck. It was reported that the Lopez brothers arrived at the residence and tried to coax the victim to come outside. The victim was at the residence visiting Emilo’s ex-girlfriend. When the victim did confront the Lopez brothers they proceeded to assault him. Before the police arrived the Lopez brothers fled from the area in silver Chevrolet Malibu. The victim was transported to the hospital for treatment of his injuries that are not considered to be life threatening.

On September 20, 2007, after an extensive investigation into her drug dealing activity, Omaha Police officers arrested Jefferson on five counts of Delivery of a Controlled Substance – Crack.
Jefferson has a history of drug-related offenses, and weapon offenses, including several instances of carrying a concealed weapon. Jefferson is a danger to the community and a substantial flight risk. Jefferson should be considered armed and dangerous.
The U.S. Marshal’s have issued a Federal warrant for the arrest of Jefferson for a drug related offense.
